Harper's Chevron a new FREE blanket pattern

For the past year I have been wanting to design a totally new and different type of chevron pattern!! It was only when I was working a smaller project that incorporated many front post dc's to make the design that I realized I could use a similar technique to make my chevrons. The result is a raised chevron that runs VERTICALLY!!! And the best of all there are no pesky increases and decreases!!

Remember....I am a human and sometimes make mistakes!!  If you find an error with my pattern, please let me know in the comment section and I will try to correct it as soon as possible!!! If you are having difficulty with my pattern, the best way to contact me for help is through my Amy B Stitched Facebook page.

This is an Original Design by Amy B Stitched. Feel free to make for profit, but remember to give credit to me, and link back to my blog www.amysastitchatatime.blogspot.com
Thank You!!! Amy B

1.       There are no skipped stitches and no multiple stitches in any stitch in the body portion of this blanket pattern. For ease of writing/reading this pattern I will just tell you the stitch abbreviation and the number of them to do through the majority of the pattern.
2.       The Chevron pattern is worked out vertically (from the bottom to the top). Look at the picture on the last page using multiple colors to get a different idea of how that looks.

3.       The blanket is worked in a multiple of 10 +2. As written, the blanket is a large baby blanket or generous lap afghan.

Rows 14-85: Repeat rows 2-13 six MORE times. HELPFUL HINT, if you put a stitch marker at the end of row 13 it will make it much easier to count your rows each to you begin a new repeat.

DO NOT FINISH OFF

You can see here how that back side looks
very different from the front side!
EDGING:
Round 1:  Ch 1, DO NOT TURN. Working down the side of the blanket, sc evenly. ( I have found that you need one and a half stitches over 3 rows to make it lay flat. So I put one sc in the end of one row and then 2 sc in the end of the next. ) 3 sc in the corner stitch, then sc across the bottom, 3 sc in the last (corner) stitch, and up the next side just like you did the first side, 3 sc in the corner st, and finally sc across the top. Finish off with 3 sc in the last stitch. Sl st in the first sc to join.
Rounds 2-3: Ch 1, DO NOT TURN. Hdc in each st around, making 3 HDC in each corner stitch. Sl st in the first st to join.
Round 4: Ch 1, DO NOT TURN. Sc in each st around, making 3 sc in each corner stitch. Sl st in the first st to join.

Round 5: Working in the Back Loop ONLY, sl st around. Finish off and weave in all ends.

In this blanket I have used up my stash of Bernat Pop Ebony and Ivory with
rows of Big Twist Sincerely Light Gray between each cake! A really
Lovely effect!!
